Light ozone use for air cleaning, is a completely different use, than doing High Ozone Shock Treatments, which are effective for removing stubborn odors like mold, and animal odors.
High Ozone Shock Treatments, are strongly recommended for serious odor and mold removal.

Please look at our charts and understand that these are realistic, but very loosely defined guides to using our ozone generators. 

The amount of ozone you need to accomplish your job may be entirely different than someone else's. These are examples to give you the general idea about ozone generator sizing.
Please call us if you have any doubt as to what your needs are. We don't want you to buy too much, or too little ozone for your needs.
 

Understand that "Whole House" coverage is only possible if the machine is set up properly to do so, as in firing the ozone into the return air duct of your ventilation system.
Otherwise the ozone generator is designed to work in the room that it is placed in.

NO air purifier will work through walls and cover the whole house by placing it in just one room.

Turning the ozone level up higher to purify another room will only lead to to much buildup of ozone, and not enough in another.

The XT-120, or the XT-240 can purify air in bedrooms and living rooms and also accomplish mild High Ozone Shock Treatments odor removal in bedrooms, offices and living rooms. The XT-120 is great for a bedroom, and the XT-240 has double the power to give areas a higher powered treatment especially in smoky rooms. This is a home model only and is not recommended for serious mold problems.

The XT-400 is recommended for air purifying of bedrooms, living rooms, and even large rooms if the odors are not extremely bad, and there are not too many smokers. It is a good sized powerful machine, and our best seller. It gives you a good deal of ozone output for doing High Ozone Shock Treatments to these areas. Removes moldy odors. This unit can even be routed into the return air duct of your ventilation system for whole house air purifying. Larger homes may need a larger machine.

The XT-800 is recommended for air purifying of large living rooms and smelly basements. It can be routed into your ventilation system for whole house air purifying.  Freshens basements of mold odors and disinfects the air and surfaces of bacteria in these areas. This unit may be too strong for small room air purifying, but has the high output needed to accomplish High Ozone Shock Treatments in larger home areas.

The XT-2000 is a professional model recommended for air purifying of small to medium sized commercial establishments. Care must be used when air purifying since this is a strong machine. Great for killing mold in basements this unit is suited more for odor, and bacteria killing High Ozone Shock Treatments.

The XT-4000 is a professional model recommended for air purifying of medium sized commercial establishments. Care must be used when air purifying since this is a strong machine. Great for killing mold in basements this, unit is suited more for odor, and bacteria killing High Ozone Shock Treatments. Double the power of the XT-2000, this model has extra kick for getting out tough odors including mold.

The XT-6000 is a professional model recommended for air purifying of larger sized commercial establishments. Care must be used when air purifying since this is a strong machine. Great for killing mold in basements this, unit is suited more for odor, and bacteria killing High Ozone Shock Treatments.  The XT-6000 is the professionals choice and gets the job done better and quicker than it's lower powered brothers.

Obviously the XT-6000 is the best model for serious odor, including smoke and mold remediation.  It has the highest ozone output for killing bacteria and mold. It can develop a higher parts per million ozone level in a given space than its smaller brothers. That higher level not only gets the job done faster, but more thoughroly and efficiently because of its higher output.

When using an ozone generator for air purification it is recommended using as little as ozone as possible to create cleaner air. The ozone level will depend upon the size of the area and number of possible smokers & the severity of the odor problem.

Air Purification is a completely different use of ozone from a High Ozone Shock Treatment  that is designed for removing a serious odor such as mold.

The unit should be placed on the opposite side of the room away from the occupants. 
Ozone is heavier than air so mounting the unit up high seems to work well with this procedure.
We sell an optional remote control kit to make this easier. Using a fan to properly distribute the ozone throughout the room is recommended.

Adjust ozone generator so that the problem odor can not be detected. Begin with the ozone generator on low setting and work the ozone level up slowly. Ozone will begin by having a fresh, sweet, rain type odor. If too much ozone is present the air will begin to have a bleachy, acrid smell. This means that the ozone level is set to high for air purification and should be at a lower ozone setting. As the odor is being removed from the area the ozone level should be turned down.

In many instances the ozone may only need to be on for a couple of minutes before the area if freshened by the ozone and the generator can then be turned off.

If ozone is set for 40 smokers and 30 leave the room , then the ozone level should be turned down. If too much ozone is used it may possibly cause a sore throat or headache. If on the lowest level the ozone is detected to still be strong, the "burst timer" may be used to lower the level even further.

The ozone generator may also be hooked into the air handling system in order to ensure proper ozone distribution.
Air Purification is a completely different use of ozone from  High Ozone Shock Treatments that are designed for removing a serious odor such as mold.

A ozone shock treatment procedure is recommended to eliminate the initial odor contamination and provide continuous control over recurring contamination with ozone. 

Choose a size of ozone generator recommended by the manufacturer for the contaminated area.

Fans may be placed throughout the area being treated to provide good ozone distribution. 

Point the ozone generator it in the direction of the problem area. Operate the unit at it's highest capacity for as long as it takes to eliminate the odor problem. It should only 30-120 minutes to remove odors with the proper sized ozone generator. 

Odors absorbed in furniture, walls, and bedding may take longer to treat since these are porous materials.
When the high ozone shock treatment is completed air the room out
If odors continue place the ozone generator permanently in the area operating at a low level. Severe cases may require a 24 + hour treatment. Milder cases may need a smaller unit or use lower output setting.

NOTE: While performing a high ozone shock treatment, make sure that all people, pets, plants and other animals are vacant from the area to be treated. Also make sure that the ozone does not leak into connected or occupied rooms by way of furnace vents or wall cracks etc.

Cigarette smoke and most other organic odors can be removed from cars, trucks, boats, & motor homes in 30 to 60 minutes.  The vehicle should be cleaned thoroughly. 
Ensure that the inside of the vehicle is completely 100% dry prior to ozone application.

Place ozone generator in automobile, roll windows down ½ inch, and adjust vent fan on full. Do not put on the air conditioning as odors are harder to remove from cold surfaces. Operate ozone at half to full for 30 to 45 minutes. Air out auto and smell for lingering odors. Repeat the procedure if necessary.

The suggested size of the ozone generator depends upon how quickly you want to disinfect the vehicle of odors. Units from 400mg.hr. to 2000mg.hr. or even larger units can be used.
