Many people want
to see the proof that ozone can actually kill bacteria and mold.
These studies
that have proven ozone does indeed kill these pathogens in air and water.

bacteria, mold, and viruses.

Air-Zone®
is currently in the process of
obtaining independent test results to provide proof our machines are capable
of killing mold and bacteria.
While any company
can commission a local lab to perform a test for a few hundred dollars,
the question is, are the test results truly credible?
One must make
sure that the test results given by various companies have meaning in the
real world.
To provide test
results that have real meaning Air-Zone®
intends to provide results from sources that are independent, and completely
credible, unlike many of our competitors.
What
are the most credible types of scientific tests?
Which
test results can truly be trusted?
The tests that
have the most credibility are those performed by Universities, the various
departments of the US Government, The Los Alamos National Laboratory,
and the non for profit International Ozone Association.
There is one other
testing agency that can be assured to have honest, 100% accurate results.
Those are tests
performed by the worlds leading testing company,
the well respected
Société
Générale de Surveillance otherwise known as SGS.
SGS
is the worlds leading verification, testing, and certification company.
They are the
largest testing company in the world, with offices in over 100 countries.
Their test results
are never called into question, because they have the reputation of performing
the most honest, accurate, scientific tests in the world.
They will never
skew test results to fit a manufacturers agenda, because their reputation
is at stake with every test they perform. Click
Here to investigate them for yourself.
Air-Zone®
has chosen SGS
to test our products so that there can be no possible doubt as to their
unparalleled accuracy. The tests we have are available upon request. They
are numbered, signed, and stamped with the official SGS seal.
You won't see
many other manufacturers using test results from SGS, because their products
cannot stand the scrutiny of such accurate tests.

We test our own
machines for ppm ozone outputs in real world situations, so that the reader
will see that Air-Zone®
ozone generators can reach the needed levels of ozone concentration needed
to kill bacteria and mold.
Please understand
that while certain manufactures show that their ozone generators can produce
ozone levels to kill mold, that that is a test measurement of a ppm level
of what their machine can output into a petrie dish, NOT the ozone level
that must exist in the ENTIRE room.
While some of
our tests show what can be killed in petrie dishes also, understand that
our machines can also FILL the ENTIRE room with this level of ozone needed
to kill the mold and bacteria over a period of time. This is something
no low level ozone generator can do.
An ozone generator
that can only produce 20 mg.hr. cannot possibly fill the entire room with
a high enough level of ozone since that is all it can produce at it's output
vents.
Ozone generators
that can ONLY produce a "safe" level of ozone in a room are unable in killing
mold in an entire room.
The tests of our
machines will show that our units will be able to FILL the ENTIRE room
with the levels of ozone needed to kill mold and bacteria.
Please always
keep in mind that we produce ozone generators than can produce low levels
of ozone for air purification,
and that some of our models that can perform High
Ozone Shock Treatments that are a MUST to kill mold and bacteria blasted
into, of course, UNOCCUPIED rooms.
There is a HUGE
difference between these two totally different uses of ozone.
Low levels of
ozone, as produced by ozone air purifiers, or ionizers will NEVER be able
to remediate mold in an entire room. ONLY the use of unoccupied High
Ozone Shock Treatments, that our machines can produce will sterilize
rooms of mold and bacteria.
Many manufacturers
of low level ozone machines claim their units only produce "safe" levels
of ozone and misinform the public that these same machines will kill all
the mold in their home. This is simply not true.
Keep in mind that
while UV
Ultraviolet in duct air purifiers are now popular, their ozone output
is very, very low. No matter what bogus studies the people try and
show you understand that UV air purifiers cannot kill mold.
UV
Ultraviolet lamps are also ineffective in killing mold and bacteria.
This is a direct
quote from General Electric, the manufacturer,
concerning their germicidal UV lamps.
"Once mold has already formed, ultraviolet
energy will NOT eliminate it."

Tests have shown
that common household bacteria, mold, mildew, and fungus are greatly reduced
by the addition of as little as 50 ppb (parts per billion) of ozone
in typical household environments.
Pathogens such
as, but not limited to, E-Coli, Salmonella Choleraesuis, Staphylococcus
Aureua, Candida Albicans, and Aspergillus Niger have been shown to have
drastic reductions in population when exposed to ozone, in tests performed
by independent laboratories.

The XT-28000
is can achieve an ozone level of 3 parts per million in a 1700 cu.ft..
room within one minute.
After 30 minutes,
at a distance of 12 feet the ozone level reached 16 parts per million.
This is the type
of power required to kill mold and bacteria.
These are the
test results of the older, less powerful, model XT-24000.

This is a recent

Conclusions:
The ozone concentration is dependent upon
the location, and running time of the ozone generator. The 12 foot distance
used in the second study is equivalent to placing the unit anywhere in
the designated area. Centered in the middle of the room, the unit was never
more than 8.5 feet from the furthest point in the room.
The ozone generator was found to easily
obtain an ozone concentration level of at least 0.3 ppm within 10 minutes
of operation, no matter where in the room the unit was placed, or where
the ozone concentration was measured.
It has been previously proven in University
of Pennsylvania studies that E coli bacteria will be killed at average
0.28 ppm ozone concentration within two hours.
In our opinion it can then be reasonably
concluded that the Air-Zone XT-6000
ozone generator will kill 99% of all E coli bacteria, in a 1700
cubic foot
room within a time period of 60-90 minutes.
We thus make these conclusions since
higher ozone concentrations than needed to kill
E coli bacteria can be obtained in
a shorter period of time with the Air-Zone
XT-6000.
Other recent studies have also proven
that ozone concentrations within 0.10 ppm and 0.40 ppm
will kill most any bacteria or viruses
in a relatively short period of time.
It is then reasonably safe to conclude
that most other pathogens will also be destroyed by the Air-Zone
XT-6000
within a short period of time.
It is important to note that these
high levels of ozone needed to kill bacteria, can only be used in rooms
unoccupied of people, plants, and animals.

Effectiveness
of Ozone
In studies conducted at the
Academy of Medical Sciences in Russia, Dr. Gubernskii and Dr. Dmitriev
found that 0.005 ppm (parts per million) to 0.02 ppm of ozone added to
normal indoor air (0 ppm) increased animals' resistance to the cold, to
infection, to toxic substances, and to oxygen deprivation. A general increase
in the immune "biological potential" and the vital capacity of the lungs
was reported.
Dr. Gubernskii and Dr.
Dmitriev also performed tests using less than .01 ppm of ozone in an air-conditioned
office building, which revealed that "the levels of oxygen in the blood
increase relatively quickly and remain at a high level for the duration
of the experiment." They also stated that: "Atmospheric ozone has a positive
effect on animals and people. It is important to note its positive effect
on the breathing system, blood composition, arterial pressure, immune system,
general feeling of well being, and mental and physical work capability. |

Purdue
University finds that ozone kills mold in grain.
Impact summary: Insects
eat $12 million worth of stored grain in Indiana each year, and pesticides
have been the tool that grain handlers use to stop them. Purdue
researchers, looking for ways to reduce pesticide use, found a potential
alternative in ozone fumigation. In initial tests, ozone fumigation
killed more than 90 percent of major insect pests and cut Aspergillus fungus
populations by more than half. It leaves no residue in grain,
does not escape into the environment, and appears to be economically competitive.
Title: Ozone fumigation
could replace pesticides in stored grain.

may be safely used in the treatment, storage, and processing of foods as
a antimicrobial agent.
The Food and Drug Administration
has approved the use of ozone in gaseous and aqueous phases as an antimicrobial
agent on food, including meat and poultry. Responding to a petition from
the Agriculture and Food Technology Alliance of the Electric Power Research
Institute, Palo Alto, Calif., FDA published a final rule that permits use
of ozone as a food additive (66 Fed. Reg. 33,829).
Purdue
University finds that ozone kills, mold, mold mycotoxins and insects.
Purdue University, in
follow up studies, determine that ozone safely kills mold, mold mycotoxins,
and insects in grain stores. They state that while ozone kills the
deadly mold fungi of Fusarium and Aspergillus, that ozone is safer than
chemicals.
Linda Mason, Purdue entomology
associate professor and co-author of the study states:
"The chemicals currently
used can kill everything in and around the grain bin, including people.
With ozone, we're not
generating ozone at deadly concentrations, and we have better control over
it when it's present."
Dirk Maier, a Purdue agricultural
and biological engineering professor, studied how to make the ozone flow
efficiently and effectively through grain storage bins.
Charles Woloshuk, a botany
and plant pathology professor, studied ozone effects on molds and mycotoxins.
The scientists began their study after
a company that uses ozone air purification systems in hospitals noticed
that air vents were cockroach free.
Absence of cockroaches in a large building
is unusual, so the researchers tested various ozone doses on different
insects and found the gas was fatal to bugs.
The International
Ozone Association states that ozonated water helps fight MRSA (staph infections)
Ozone
Kills MRSA “Super Bugs”By Paul Overbeck, Nov 1, 2007
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The International
Ozone Association (IOA), based here, says that sanitizing towels,
linens and surfaces with ozonated water has
been shown to be “extremely effective” in the reduction of the staph
infection “super bug” MRSA, a methicillin-resistant form of Staphylococcus
aureus which has been spreading across the United States, according
to a recent IOA press release.
The
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently reported
that in 2005, MRSA, which can start as a serious
skin infection, was responsible for more than 94,000 infections and about
19,000 deaths in the United States.
The IOA reports that washing
with ozonated water can reduce MRSA
and its conventional S. aureus cousin by as much as 99.999999 percent.
The CDC has said that good handwashing practices and other forms of hygiene
also help prevent MRSA infections, which have
been most commonly contracted in health care facilities but have been shown
in recent media reports to have occurred in schools.
A paper released last
year by the International Ozone Association,“Ozone
in the Laundry Industry — Practical Experiences in the United Kingdom,”
said that tests by Microsearch Laboratories confirmed that low-temperature
ozone
washing
can effectively inactivated organisms including Clostridium
difficile, E. coli, MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Streptococcus
faecalis, Aspergillus niger, Clostridium perfringens, Campylobacter jejuni,
and Aeromonas, Actinobacter and Lactobacilli.
The International
Ozone Association is a non profit organization so its studies
cannot be published on private websites
which is why we do not post it here.
These are news stories about the study.

be on when the room is occupied. Some individuals are sensitive to even
low levels of ozone and High
Ozone Shock Treatments are the best method
for them to use ozone for great benefit when they are not in the room.
the effects of ozone continue to last even after the generator is turned
